From Metalsmith to Firefighter, the Passion for Jewelry Never Diminished

My journey started with a love for crafting exquisite pieces of jewelry. I hold a degree in metalwork from Humboldt State University and have honed my craft through classes at the Revere Academy in San Francisco. With over 20 years of experience as a jeweler, I am proud to share how my journey led to Golden Flame Jewelry.

As I shared, I was a metalsmith, dedicated to creating unique designs that could capture the essence of beauty and strength making you feel beautiful, and show up strong and confident. But life had other plans for me, and I became a firefighter, committed to helping others on their worst days.

Over the last 12 years as a firefighter, I discovered the importance of healthy coping mechanisms. Yoga and creativity became my solace, and I found myself returning to the art of jewelry-making. It was in those moments of creation that I realized the power of jewelry to bring joy and empowerment to people's lives.

But it was during a critical moment, facing a potentially career-ending injury from a fire at work, that I truly understood the healing and transformative potential of jewelry. It became my place of salvation, a source of strength and hope for me to still make a difference.

As the world faced the challenges of the pandemic, requests for my jewelry began to pour in from friends and family. It was clear that people wanted to make a difference too, to feel joy, and to contribute positively to their community. This realization fueled my determination to turn Golden FlameJewelry into something more profound than just beautiful adornments.

We believe in giving back to our community, especially to those who need it most. That's why we donate 10% of every purchase to children in need at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
